TV Series
Unforgotten – the first crime drama I watched this year, and I was instantly hooked. Originally on ITV, this show uncovers and solves passed ‘unforgotten’ murder cases.
Line of Duty – Another fantastic crime drama. I’m yet to finish this, I’m halfway through the fourth series, and there’s a fifth series waiting on BBC iplayer for me to delve into – so please no spoilers, but this is hands down the best TV show I’ve seen in a long time.
Dr Foster – An absolutely gripping drama. At the end of each episode I was completely hooked to find out what happens next, with plenty of twists in the storyline to keep you interested.
Top Boy – This was the first TV series I got stuck into this year – a binge-worthy crime drama based in East London which I loved and would happily re-watch.
Friday Night Dinner – Something more lighthearted, if you want something easy to watch and a comedy then I’d highly recommend Friday Night Dinner. It’s great for casual watching.
Breaking Bad – An absolute classic for me. Me and my boyfriend recently re-watched the whole thing and loved it just as much as the first time around. The characters in this, for me, are what makes this show brilliant.
Bodyguard – A contemporary thriller following the Royalty and Specialist division of the London Met Police. I couldn’t anticipate where the storyline would lead, leaving me hooked after each episode.
Films
Sex and The City – The Sex and The City films, nor the TV series I will never get bored of. I have watched the whole thing through countless times, and I love going back to it.
Nightmare on Elm Street – If you like a horror, I’d recommend Nightmare on Elm street if you’ve not already seen it. I’ve re-watched a couple of times, and got my boyfriend to watch it with me as he hadn’t seen it before and although not the biggest horror film lover, he enjoyed it too.
What Happened To Monday – A sci-fi film in a world where families are limited to one child due to overpopulation – this film was filled with great twists and turns, and an interesting perspective. Sci-fi films aren’t always my cup of tea, but this I really enjoyed.
Five Feet Apart – An emotional but heart-warming romantic film to watch.
Law Abiding Citizen – Another great crime drama, where a man takes justice into his own hand.
What are your Netflix favourites? What are your plans for the weekend?
